Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer (Commercial Insurance) Hybrid | Contract-to-Hire (6 months) | Mid–Senior Level | $43 per hour Build and scale Azure AI–driven solutions in a regulated commercial insurance environment A consulting organization supporting enterprise insurance clients is seeking a Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer to design, build, and support cloud-native applications leveraging Microsoft Azure and AI services. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with deep backend expertise, hands-on Azure experience, and a strong understanding of commercial insurance systems. Position Overview The Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer will be responsible for developing scalable backend services, integrating Azure AI capabilities, and supporting enterprise-grade insurance platforms. This role combines modern cloud engineering, API development, and applied AI within a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C# .NET • Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting commercial insurance workflows • Implement AI-enabled features using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI and Azure Foundry • Develop and deploy solutions across Azure services including Container Apps, API Management, App Gateway, Key Vault, App Services, Logic Apps, and SQL Managed Instance • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform • Collaborate with agile teams to deliver features across release trains • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and documentation RequirementsRequired Qualifications • Minimum 7 years of experience in Commercial Insurance • 8–10 years of overall software engineering experience • Strong proficiency in C# .NET and API design and development • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services • Experience using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Preferred Experience & Skills • Experience working on agile teams and release trains • Familiarity with SAFe frameworks • Experience with Angular and front-end integrations • Strong SQL experience • Property & Casualty insurance experience BenefitsCompensation & Role Details • Pay Rate: $43 per hour • Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) • Work Arrangement: Hybrid • Relocation Assistance: Not available • Visa Sponsorship: Not available • Industry: Information Technology and Services
